This is my foot, after walking around yesterday with out any shoes or socks for that matter.
Shoe Charity TOMS are really powerful in their work, and i felt inspired to take part in their day, One Day Without Shoes. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, didn’t carry a banner or hand out leaflets. Anyone who asked, i told them all i knew and didn’t pretend to know much.
It was intresting, like when the lift breaks in a building you often use, or your laptop stops working as well as it should. It doesn’t stop you from doing anything, but you notice how much harder your daily tasks become.
Not that not wearing shoes didn’t stop me from doing anything, i went to see some friends and went to the pub., normal activities for normal people and being shoeless didn’t stop me from doing that, but it did make me notice how much we take this modern consumerist world for granted and how something like shoes will take you back.
